BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Kyle Dube remains behind bars at the Penobscot County Jail where he's being held without bail for the murder of 15-year-old Nichole Cable.
Now he's facing a theft charges too.
Penobscot County Sheriff's Deputies issued a press release Thursday morning stating that Dube, 20, was arrested and charged with theft on Tuesday.
According to Chief Deputy Troy Morton, investigators recovered a stolen firearm from Dube's Orono home while executing a search warrant last month. Morton says other items were recovered from a burglary in Kenduskeag in January.
The new charges are for burglary and theft by unauthorized taking, which are both class B felonies. Dube also faces kidnapping and murder charges in the death of Nichole Cable.
According to a police affidavit, his plan was to tie her up and hide her somewhere, then return to rescue her, thus becoming a hero. According to the state medical examiners office Cable died of asphyxiation due to pressure on her throat. Her body was found in a wooded area in Old Town in May.
