BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- If you can't seem to get your house to stay cool this summer, it may be leaking air. To help with that problem, Efficiency Maine is currently offering a $600 rebate toward a home energy assessment and air sealing.
The organization partners with contractors in the area that will run tests and seal holes where air is escaping.
Experts say this a great first step toward saving money on energy costs and having a more comfortable house.
"One of the biggest benefits is that making energy efficiency improvements can make your house much more comfortable," said Matt Damon of Penobscot Home Performance. "Certainly now in the heat wave that we have, a well insulated tight home is much much cooler and more comfortable to be in."
The rebate from Efficiency Maine is only available until the end of September. To find out more about the program, call Efficiency Maine at 1-866-376-2463 or visit www.efficiencymaine.com.
