BIDDEFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- An accident in Biddeford Friday night sent several people to the hospital and left two people in critical condition, according to police and fire officials.

It happened just before 6 p.m. at TJ's Pizza, at 364 Elm Street. Police say 56-year-old David Labonte from Kennebunkport was driving his pickup truck northbound when he crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and hit bicyclists on the sidewalk heading south.

Police say 51-year-old Jamerico Elliott from Saco was on one of the bicycles with a 15-month-old boy in a child seat.  Both were taken to Maine Medical Center and as of Friday evening were listed in critical condition.

30-year-old Melodie Brennan from Saco was on the other bicycle. She was treated and released from Southern Maine Medical Center.

Authorities say Labonte also hit another pickup truck parked at Republic Cash at 364 Elm St.  The force of the crash pushed both cars into a nearby house causing damage to the home. Police say a granite foundation block was pushed into the home which knocked out electrical power and water.  Biddeford Code Enforcement was called in to evaluate the safety of the building.

The crash remains under investigation.
