KANSAS CITY, Missouri (NEWS CENTER) -- Former Umaine football player Mike DeVito is getting comfortable in Kansas City for his first season with the Chiefs - after spending five with the New York Jets.
A familiar face is joining him in Kansas City. Bob Sutton is in his first year as the defensive coordinator for the Chiefs. Sutton spent the past 12 seasons on the coaching staff of the Jets, so DeVito definitely has experience playing under Sutton's system - something that is making him a leader among his new teammates.
"It's nice to know this defense - to have been in this defense for four years," says DeVito, "So I really want to try and help these guys learn it as fast as we can."
The Chiefs lost their preseason opener to the New Orleans Saints, 17-13.
