WINDHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Contractors in Windham have only minor injuries after a roof they were working on collapsed on top of them.

Construction workers were securing trusses on the roof of a new riding arena when a slight breeze cause a domino effect, knocking half the trusses off and trapping a handful of workers. When the fire department arrived at 81 Nash Street, one man was on the ground complaining of neck and back pain. A couple of other men had some bruises and cuts. Three men in total were sent to the hospital where two have since been cleared and the other is recovering from minor back injuries.
Chief Charles Hammond of the Windham Fire Department says it doesn't seem like anyone made a mistake; Mother Nature just had bad timing.
"Those trusses go all the way across the top. You get a little bit of a breeze, and it starts moving things around, especially when they're not strapped off at the top and that's what they were doing today."
Chief Hammond called OSHA to tell them what happened. They will be conducting an investigation if necessary. Local police and code enforcement officials were also on scene.
