ORONO, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- After a big win against UMass over the weekend, the 2-0 UMaine football team is gearing up to play on its own turf against Bryant University. And with only five home games scheduled this season, students are more eager than ever to cheer on their beloved Black Bears.
"Should be a pretty good turn out," says Allie Hammond, a junior at UMaine. "They look like they have a pretty good season ahead of them, and everyone is really excited."
Some are fired up for the next game for more personal reasons.
"I'm more excited that it's my father's old college that we are playing against," said Peter Gimlewicz, a UMaine freshman. "It's kind of like a son-father rivalry coming together."
The game will take place this Saturday at 3:30 at Morse Field. Both UMaine and Bryant have undefeated records so far this season.
