BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- A former Lincoln ed-tech denies having sex with a 15 year old student in a Bangor courtroom today. Tammy Larlee made her first appearance in court facing four counts of gross sexual assault.
Authorities allege Larlee and a 15-year old had sex at least four times this past summer. The ed-tech did resign from her position at Matanawcook academy. She worked within school district since 1999.
Police say they became aware of the relationship while investigating a burglary case involving the 15- year old-- but the superintendent of RSU 67 says there were rumors within the school about the two and their alleged relationship.
Superintendent Ray Freve with RSU 67 said, "It came to our attention from the police department and some worrying from some members of the public....she is banned from school property period whether they are 16 years old or not until she goes to court. That ban for RSU 67 will hold. She is not to be on school property without prior permission from us."
Superintendent Freve did not want to comment on whether the student is still attending the school.
Larlee is expected back in court on November 5th.
