Police cite massage business in South Portland for violations
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - The owner of a now-closed South Portland massage parlor has pleaded guilty to charges that she did not have a proper business license and offered at least one sexual massage service.
Lucy Louie was fined $1,500 on Wednesday in Cumberland County Unified Criminal Court in Portland to civil violations for operating Red Stone Spa without a massage license and failure to license as an adult use establishment.
The Portland Press Herald reports that a third charge of operating an adult use establishment at a prohibited site was dismissed.
South Portland police and city officials ordered the Red Stone Spa closed on Aug. 19 after officers investigated a week earlier and found that the business was offering so-called "table showers," or nude rubdowns of patrons.
