BREWER, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Famous Musicians often travel to Maine to play shows, but not many come just to teach. World renowned trumpet player Roger Ingram did just that. He spent the morning passing on his music knowledge to members of the Brewer High School Jazz Band.
In his long career, Ingram has played with stars like Ray Charles and Harry Connick Jr. He spent over thirty years on the road before deciding that it was time to use his talent to teach aspiring musicians.
"It's exciting," said Nick Turner, a senior member of the Brewer jazz band. "To learn from someone famous like him... very exciting."
While he is in Brewer, Ingram will also put on a small show at the Brewer Community school tomorrow at 7:30 PM. The Brewer jazz band will join him on stage for one song.
