HAMPDEN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - State police say they have recovered a body of a middle aged woman from the Penobscot River.
State police say the middle aged female body was found by 2 kayakers floating in the Penobscot River.
The woman did not have any ID on her body. The body has been sent to state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
Police said the woman appears to be in her 50s or 60s, short reddish hair, wearing jeans and a leather-like coat.
Detectives will review any missing persons reports. It appears the body had been in the river only a few days.
