AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Maine Gov. Paul LePage says he's a man of action, not a man of words.

That was the message that resounded throughout the Republican governor's speech on Tuesday in the official launch of his re-election bid.

LePage highlighted his key accomplishments since taking office, including pushing through welfare reform legislation, working to stop domestic violence, paying the state's hospitals back for unpaid Medicaid expenses and bringing charter schools to the state.

LePage says more needs to be done. He says the state needs to continue working to lower electricity costs to improve the business climate and bring more companies to Maine.

The governor is being challenged by Democratic U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud and Independent candidate Eliot Cutler, who lost to the governor by less than 2 percentage points in 2010.
