PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The United States Lacrosse League announced on Monday that it has signed the first franchise in its league's history, the Maine Moose Trax.
The USLL website claims that the team will play its home games starting next fall at the Cumberland County Civic Center. It even says on the web site that details of the teams brand and information of a local introductory press conference will be released shortly.
No one from the Cumberland County Board of Trustees or the city of Portland was available for comment on this, but NEWS CENTER did speak with Josh Plowman, who is listed as the owner of the Maine Moose Trax.
Plowman told NEWS CENTER that while his group has had discussions with the Civic Center and his hope is to get a deal done in the near future, there is no actual deal yet and the USLL web site statement was, "A little premature."
