LISBON FALLS, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - One teenager was killed and another seriously injured after a car crash on Maine Street in Lisbon Falls early Saturday morning.
Investigators say 16-year-old Andrew Chapman lost control of his car, left the roadway and struck a tree. Chief David Brooks from the Lisbon Police Department says he was likely going too fast at the time of the crash.
Rescuers used the jaws of life to free Chapman from the wreckage and he was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland where he died from his injuries.
A passenger, Michael Coffin, underwent surgery at Central Maine Medical Center where he remains this weekend.
Two passengers in the rear seat got out of the vehicle on their own. They were treated at the hospital and released.
The Lewiston Police Department is helping in the investigation.
