TOPSHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The Hannaford store in Topsham is seeking returns on ground beef purchased on Saturday.
Small metal clips used in food packaging were found in an area where beef was ground.
As a precaution, the store removed all ground beef made Saturday morning from its shelves.
If consumers purchased ground beef at the Topsham store with a "use or freeze by date" of Dec. 16, they are asked to return it for a full refund.
Lean Beef, 90%, 85% and 73% are the packages of concern.
The specific sizes range from .5 lbs to 5 lbs. And the recall only affects beef purchased Saturday.
