PORTLAND, Maine (AP) -- A Maine man has been sentenced to over six years in prison for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Brunel Constant of Lewiston was convicted in May. He was sentenced in federal court on Monday.

According to trial testimony, the 34-year-old Constant was found sleeping on an apartment building porch in August 2011. When residents there approached him, an argument ensued and Constant threatened to return with a firearm. Moments later, Constant returned to the apartment building and fired two bullets into one of the apartments.
