ARUNDEL, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Three schools in southern Maine got a jump start on a fundraiser that will help raise money for the American Heart Association.
The Mildred Day School has been raising money through Jump Rope For Heart for 15 years. On Monday, their month-long fundraiser was kicked off by the South Bristol Spindrifters, a demonstration team that travels the state getting schools jazzed up for the program through their jump roping stunts.
The students ask their friends and family for donations for the American Heart Association. Over the years, they've been able to raise about $15-thousand.
The fundraiser also encourages the students to get more active in any way they can to help keep their hearts healthy.
