Two officers assaulted and three men arrested in Fryeburg

FRYEBURG, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Fryeburg Police responded to a distrubance call around midnight Saturday night.

Upon arrival, the officers found a scuffle had occurred in the driveway. The officers were met with resistance at the door, and Deputy Murray was assaulted at that time.

A taser was deployed by Deputy Murray, and the two officers were then confronted and taunted by several intoxicated males.

Office Dyer was assaulted during the confrontation. The disorderly group continued to advance on the officers, forcing them to retreat from the residence until backup arrived.

Additional help came from Oxford County Deputies, State Police Troopers, Bridgton Police, Cumberland County Sheriff's Deputies, and Fryeburg Rescuse who treated the victims.

The Police made three arrests at the scene. 52-year-old Harold Fall Jr. was arrested for disorderly conduct, refusing to submit to arrest, and a misdemeanor for assault on Deputy Murray.

25-year-old Jeremy Wentworth was arrested for disorderly conduct, obstructing government administration, refusing to submit to arrest, and a misdemeanor for assault on Office Dyer.

23-year-old Ian MacDonald was arrested for obstructing government administration and refusing to submit to arrest.

All three men were transported to the Oxford County Jail.
