BANGOR (NEWS CENTER/AP) -- Vice Presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) spoke Thursday morning at a rally at Bangor International Airport.
Palin addressed the crowd for about 40 minutes. She spoke about Wednesday night's presidential debate. She told the entusiastic crowd of about four thousand supporters that she and John McCain want to get the economy back on track. She also listed energy and government reform among her top priorities.
Palin said that the election is going to come down to what people believe, and that she and McCain believe in what Ronald Reagan believed in.
McCain's campaign has focused resources on northern Maine in hopes of coming away with at least one electoral vote on Election Day. The campaign believes the moose-hunting Palin will connect with voters in a region where hunting, fishing and snowmobiling are popular.
State Republican leaders along with Senator Olympia Snowe warmed up the crowd. Country music star Lee Greenwood opened for Palin with the national anthem followed by God Bless the U.S.A.
