UPDATE: Police say the driver of the car that hit a 14 year-old boy Wednesday morning is 27 year-old Tiba Kamaludeen. Police say she was driving with a permit license only and is charged with a civil violation.
She was dropping off her young child at the JFK school when she hit the teenager on his bike who police say was on the sidewalk.
Police say the boy is expected to be ok. He is being kept at the hospital overnight for observation and is expected to be released on Thursday.
BIDDEFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A 14-year-old boy was taken to Maine Medical Center after he was hit by a 2003 van in the parking area of John F. Kennedy School while riding his bicycle Wednesday, police said.
The crash occurred around 7:38 a.m. on West Street in Biddeford. "We are not sure at this time what his injuries are," Biddeford EMS said.
We do know he is a student at the Biddeford Middle School and police believe he was on his way to school when he was hit.
The school alerted staff and students to the accident via email.
Police are on the scene and are investigating with an accident reconstruction team.
