Burglary suspect leads police on high speed chase, rams into police cruiser

Garland man leads police on high speed chase

DEXTER, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A high speed chase in Dexter ended with the driver crashing into an old building, landing in a field -- not before ramming into an officer's cruiser during an attempted traffic stop.

Police say 22-year-old Lee Henderson of Garland tried breaking into a home on Phinney Road in Corinna. The homeowner was there and immediately called police. Henderson jumped into a vehicle belonging to the homeowner and took off towards Airport Road. Police say they spotted Henderson and were about to perform a traffic stop when he backed up and rammed into the cruiser, he then sped off.

Henderson ended up smashing into a building on Line Road in Dexter and crashed into a nearby field. Police were then able to arrest him with no issue -- he faces multiple charges in Corinna and Dexter. The officer was taken from the scene with minor injuries but is expected to be okay.
