Deadly truck wreck kills one and injures three in Windham

1 dead, 1 teen seriously injured in crash

WINDHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Police say one person is dead and three are injured after two trucks collided in Windham Thursday night.

At approximately, 10:47 PM, police say two full sized pickup trucks were involved in a serious crash on Tandberg Trail, just north of the Presumpscot River near the Standish town line.

Windham PD, Lt. James Boudreau says 38 year-old Rebecca Perry, of Steep Falls, Maine died at the scene and her passenger, a 15-year-old female, was transported to Maine Medical Center with severe life threatening injuries.

28-year-old Philip Macri, of Hiram the driver of the second truck was transported to Maine Medical Center with minor injuries and her passenger 23-year-old Kelly Brangan, of Englishtown, New Jersey, was also transported to Maine Medical Center with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the initial scene assessment seems to indicate that the crash was either head on or near head on. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.  No one has been charged with an offense at this point in time.  Once all of the evidence is gathered and assessed, a decision will be made on how to proceed.  

No further information will be released at this time pending the completion of the investigation, police say. Deputies from Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office assisted officers at the scene.  Windham PD’s Accident Reconstruction Unit and Criminal Investigation Division also responded to supplement the investigation.
