Driver charged with OUI after hitting bicylist

Man charged with OUI after hitting biker.

KITTERY, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A man on a bike was seriously injured after a run in with a drunk driver in Kittery.
38-year-old Brandon Hickmott was riding his bike around Memorial Circle at midnight on Sunday when 27-year-old John Brushie, of York, hit him in his jeep wrangler. 
The fire department had to excavate Hickmott out from under the car. He has serious, but non life threatening injuries and was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital. 
Brushie was arrested and charged with Felony Operating Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor or Drugs. He is being held on $5000.00 cash bail at the York County Jail and is scheduled to be arranged on September 9.
