Kittery Police investigate attempted child abduction

KITTERY, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Kittery Police Department is looking for information about a possible attempted abduction that occurred Thursday night.

Police say a 7-year-old boy was approached by a white van with a roof rack and dark tinted windows in the area of MacDougal St. around 8:30 Thursday night.

Police described the man in the van as a white male with white hair and a white beard. Police said he was between 50 and 60 years of age. He was wearing a red hat, a red shirt and jeans.

Police said the man got out of the van and came towards the child. The boy ran to a neighbor's house.

No license plate information was reported.
