Police and wardens search for missing man

*UPDATE* 10/1 9:39p – Hopkins has been found by a local citizen, according to Lewiston PD.

Police say he was spotted walking outbound on College Street into Greene.

Hopkins was brought to Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center for evaluation, but police say he appeared to be in good health.

According to police, the local citizen recognized Hopkins from a recent news story.

Lewiston PD extended a thank you to everyone who helped in the search for Hopkins.

LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Maine Game Wardens and State Police are asking for the public's help in finding 64-year-old Claude Hopkins, who has been missing since Friday around 3 PM.

He is described as being 5 foot 7, white, 175 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, red shorts, and carrying a colostomy bag, and was going into the Thorncrag Woods in Lewiston.

Officials ask the public to call State Police in Gray immediately at 911 or (207) 657 3030 if they see Mr. Hopkins. He has intellectual disabilities and wandered from the home where he was staying, and they are not sure how he would react to being approached by a stranger.

Officials say Hopkins has wandered before.
