Lewiston city telephone system operating again

LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Deputy City Administrator Phil Nadeau is reporting that all city department telephones are now up and operating.

Earlier today the phones were down due to the failure of a power supply module in the city's PBX system.

Nadeau went on to say that the city was fortunate that the city's telephone system vendor had the part in inventory and was able to rush it to City Hill so that city staff could make necessary repairs.

Nadeau reported that he was uncertain as to the specific time of the failure, but suspected that it had occurred sometime early Saturday morning and the phones were back up mid-afternoon.
