Tourists flock to Maine in the summer for the food, for the beaches, for the mountains and for the sundials.
The North American Sundial Society came to Portland in June for its convention. And apart from touring some of the state's well known gnomons and dial plates, they also hunted for something of a treasure.
There is a written account of a sundial that is said to be somewhere in Portland. No one knows exactly where it is, though.
