TREMONT, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — A 29-year-old man was seriously injured Saturday night when he was hit by a car while walking his dog along Route 102 in Tremont.
It happened just before 7 p.m.
According to the 911 call, the person driving never stopped.
The victim was life-flighted to Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Hancock County Sheriff's deputies tracked down the vehicle on Cape Road where they arrested Scott Merchant, who was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and operating under the influence.
Merchant posted the $250 bail, but police said more charges are likely.
The victim's name and condition were not immediately released.
