Man, woman robbed in Bangor Savings Bank parking lot

WATERVILLE, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Waterville Police Department responded to a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the Bangor Savings Bank Sunday afternoon.

Police said the caller reported she and a male subject were in the parking lot on Main St. around 2:20 p.m. They were preparing to make a deposit at the bank when a white male approached them, brandished a knife, and demanded cash.

The male suspect, described as a white male of average height, in his 20's, fled on foot with the cash toward Home Depot. No one was injured in the incident.

Waterville Police responded, as well as Oakland, Winslow and Fairfield Police Departments. A State Police K-9 unit responded and conducted a search for the suspect.

Anyone in the area at the time of the robbery, who may have helpful information, is asked to contact police at 680-4700.
