Mass., NH governors make Market Basket statement

(NEWS CENTER) -- The governors of Massachusetts and New Hampshire made a joint statement about the ongoing Market Basket feud Friday.

Gov. Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire and Governor Deval Patrick of Massachusetts released a joint statement that says, in part, "we are hopeful that employees will return to work, and the stores will reopen, early next week."

The statement comes after fired Market Basket C-E-O Arthur T. Demoulas submitted a final bid to buy a large share of the company from his cousin, Arthur S. Demoulas, according to the Boston Globe.

The Market Basket board was originally scheduled to meet Saturday. However, that meeting has been postponed until Sunday or Monday. There are others interested in buying the company, including Delhaize Group, the parent company of Hannaford.
