Deadly heroin laced W-18 may be circulating in Sanford

Deadly batch of heroin could have surfaced in Sanford area

SANFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --  Sanford police issued a warning on Wednesday that a batch of heroin might contain the synthetic drug W-18. in Sanford. 

The Sanford Police Dept said they had reported on this drug a few months back and it is 100,000 times more portent than morphine and 1 microgram (grain of salt) can cause an instant overdose.

They are pleading with the public to be  aware that if you are a heroin user that one dose of W-18 laced heroin can be instantaneously fatal.

Police are also asking for the community's help: "If anyone has any additional information regarding this please call us at 324-9170 and speak with an officer or leave an anonymous tip."
