BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Emera Maine officials say a squirrel in a Bangor substation has caused a power outage in the Bangor area. Workers are currently working to restore power.
Emera spokesman Bob Potts said in a release, " A number of the (Bangor) "Tree Streets" are affected as well as major roadways including Hogan Road, State Street and Stillwater Avenue. Several street lights are out so motorists are urged to slow down and use caution while navigating intersections. Workers will remain in the field repairing any damage until all customers are safely restored."
The Emera outage map shows just under 1000 customers are without power. More information when it becomes available.
