State's largest series of solar panels moves closer to reality

Maine's largest series of solar panels project moves forward.

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- One of the state's largest series of solar panels moves one step closer to a reality.

The Portland City Councilors unanimously voted to move forward with a plan to build the solar array at the Ocean Avenue Landfill Wednesday night.

The city would partner with Revision Energy for the project, which is expected to cost $150,000 over the first six years.

The project also needs approval from the State Department of Environmental Protection.
