KITTERY (AP) -- A Biddeford woman is facing prostitution charges in what police say appears to be an organized ring operated through Internet postings on Craigslist. Police say 30-year-old Lisa L. Chambers is due in court in June to answer a misdemeanor prostitution charge. Police say an undercover officer visited a Kittery hotel room Friday and after an understanding was reached that there would be sex, Chambers was arrested. Police say they found sexual aids, cash and notebooks with names, dates and times. Kittery Police Detective Daniel Soule tells the Portsmouth Herald the ring has apparently been going on for some time. He says the "service" offered through Craigslist includes Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
