ELLSWORTH (NEWS CENTER) -- A water main break ithat caused problems all day Thursday in downtown Ellsworth has been repaired and all roads re-opened.

The break was reported around 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Main and State Street. Traffic was detoured, and courts and schools closed early due to a loss of water pressure.

A boil water order is in effect in some of the city until further notice. For a complete list of streets affected, click here. In a boil water order, officials say water must be brought to a vigorous boil for at least three minutes prior to using in all food preparation, drinking, diluting juices or formulas, and brushing teeth. They add ice cubes should be thrown away and people should not use an automatic ice maker.
