BRUNSWICK (NEWS CENTER) -- A man from Topsham who has been helping people for nearly 30 years is now getting some help himself.

Last month, John "Stoney" Dionne was diagnosed with lung cancer. The treatments have made him weak and unable to ride his bike. He's been the man behind the Loster Run for 28 years--a ride to benefit Maine kids battling cancer. When the same disease he's been fighting caught up with him, his friends got together to organize Stoney's ride.

Stoney's friends have organized another fundraiser, Stonefest, to be held on July 12.

Stoney's goal is to be back on his bike for the Lobster Run.
