ATV Crash Leaves 5-Year-Old With Head Injuries

TOWNSHIP 3, RANGE 4 (NEWS CENTER) -- A 27-year-old woman and a 5-year-old boy were involved in an ATV crash around 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

According to Deb Turcotte of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, the two were riding on an old logging road when the driver, 27-year-old Janelle Grant of Island Falls, hit a wash-out in the road. The ATV rolled, leaving Grant with a broken arm and the 5-year-old with unspecified head injuries.

Both were flown by LifeFight to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Their current conditions have not been released.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Maine Warden Service.
