BAR HARBOR (NEWS CENTER) -- The public got a rare to chance to go inside Jackson laboratory. The lab had it's annual "Discovery Day" event. People listened to speakers, including Dr. Henry Lodge, author of the book "Younger Next Year." They also got a chance to see the genetically mutated mice used in the lab for research. The focus of this year's event was aging. Dr Lodge says we have more control over our longevity than ever before, and the research at Jackson Labs in partially responsible. "It's always easy to look at the end result which makes a nice big splash, and not support the very basic infrastructure research that had to happen," Lodge said "So what's happening here is quiet and profound and important and fascinating." More than one hundred thirty people attended Saturday's event.
