PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER) -- Maine's Catholic church continues to be active in the fight against same sex marriage.

The bishop has asked churches to take up a special second collection next weekend to support Stand For Marriage Maine, the group leading the effort to repeal Maine's same sex marriage law.

Stand For Marriage Maine also is holding a big rally Sunday, September 13 at the Augusta Civic Center. Those who want to attend must get free tickets through their church.
