AUGUSTA (NEWS CENTER) -- The Kennebec County Sheriff's Department has broken up a burglary ring that spread throughout central Maine.
Officials say more than $75,000 worth of family heirlooms, military medals, and electronics have been recovered after the arrest of a couple from Augusta. Luke Greenlaw and his girlfriend Sarah Vitale were nabbed after they tried to sell the stolen goods to a pawn shop in Hallowell.
Investigators say the couple is responsible for more than 20 break-ins in Kennebec County over the last few months. Deputies believe the burglaries were feuling the couple's heroin and crack addiction.
The couple is suspected in burglaries that occurred in the towns of Vassalboro, Albion, China, Sidney, Monmouth, and Edgecomb.
