BANGOR (NEWS CENTER) -- Joshua Coffin, 18, of Milford, was indicted Monday on more than two-dozen charges.

A Penobscot County grand jury indicted Coffin on 23 counts of burglary and nine counts of theft. Police say Coffin broke into several fast-food restaurants and landscaping businesses in Brewer, Bangor, Hampden and Orono in May and June.

They said in total Coffin stole about $5,000 worth of items.

Authorities say they caught Coffin in the act of breaking into a business in Orono in June. They say when he was arrested, he admitted to all the other break-ins.

Coffin has been released on $500 cash bail.
