BOSTON (NEWS CENTER) - An official from the union that represents some Fairpoint Communications workers say there's going to be a meeting with the company today to discuss a possible bankruptcy filing.

Mike Spillane of the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers says he expects Fairpoint to ask for union concessions during that meeting today in Boston.

Last year Fairpoint bought Verizon's landline and internet assets in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

The company has been plagued with problems and officials have said a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing is a possibility.

The governors of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont say they want assurances that any debt restructuring by the company doesn't further erode customer service.
