
BANGOR (AP) -- An Indiana scholar and a Maine native is set to become the new president of Husson University in Bangor. The school's trustees announced the appointment of Robert A. Clark on Thursday. Clark will succeed William Beardsley who has served as Husson president since 1987. Beardsley guided the transformation of Husson from a business school to Husson University, which has about 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students. Clark is currently a vice president at the University of Evansville in Indiana. He is also a professor of Finance and International Business at Evansville's Schroeder Family School of Business Administration. Clark is a native of Albion, Maine. He takes office Jan. 1.
