MACHIAS (NEWS CENTER) -- The man accused of setting fire to a home in Dennysville early Wednesday morning is being held on five-thousand dollars cash bail.

51-year-old Bryon Alley of Machias was formally charged Thursday in Washington County Superior Court.

Police say Alley set fire to the home of 61-year-old Joyce Morse around 2:00 a.m. Morse was able to put out the fire herself after her dogs woke her. Police say Morse and Alley knew each other.

One of Alley's bail conditions is that he have no contact with Morse. Alley is being held at the Washington County Jail.
