
BANGOR (NEWS CENTER)--The man accused trying to kill his estranged wife and her friend has been acquitted of the most serious charges.
A jury found Ryan Witmer of Orrington not guilty of attempted murder this week. The jury did find him guilty of violation of a protection order and assault. Witmer was on trial for charges he stabbed his estranged wife, Leigh, and her friend, Jospeh Busque in June of 2008 at the Witmer home in Orrington. A sentencing date has not been set.
