AUGUSTA (NEWS CENTER) -- The newly formed Citizens' Task Force on Wind Power is speaking out against the development of industrial wind power projects in Maine.

The group claims the projects are removing Maine's mountain tops and destroying the future of tourism.

Governor Baldacci stands by his claim that wind turbines in Maine create jobs and will lower electricity bills.

The most recent 'Critical Insights on Maine' tracking survey indicates 9 out of 10 Mainers polled support the development of wind power in Maine as a source of electricity.
