BANGOR (NEWS CENTER) -- People from all over the greater Bangor area honored their veterans Wednesday.
People lined the streets of Bangor and Brewer to pay tribute to the men and women who served their country. Hundreds of veterans marched in the parade with their walking sticks from the Cole Land Transportation Museum. There were also many people there to honor family members who served or are currently serving. It was a particularly emotional veterans day for Cindy Boudreau of Hampden. Her son, Spc. Travis Boudreau, is stationed at Fort Hood, and was one of the servicemen who carried the bodies of the thirteen fallen soldiers onto the plane to be transported to Dover Air Force Base.
"He says it was very moving when they loaded one body and then marched off and had to get another," Boudreau told NEWS CENTER. "He said, 'Mum there were hundreds and hundredsand hundreds of soldiers at that airport to see them off.'"
Cindy Boudreau just bought a plane ticket to visit her son in Fort Hood.
