BREWER (NEWS CENTER) -- Local women's groups are benefiting from a craft show that gives Mainers a taste of the holiday season.
The 31st Annual Holiday Marketplace kicked off this morning at the Brewer Auditorium. The event features 70 crafters, who offer everything from dolls and jewelry to traditional Maine music.
The marketplace is put on each year by the ladies of the Zonta Club of Bangor. This year the group spent two nights making more than 1,000 peanut butter balls and other goodies for the show.
Proceeds from the marketplace go to help Zonta support groups such as "Caring Connections" and "Rape Response."
It will continue Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The cost of admission is one dollar.
