GRAY, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Maine's Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife runs an interactive wildlife park in Gray.

In September we were granted special access to several of the animals who make the park their home.  From birds to bobcats the park houses several wild animals.  Many of the animals were brought to the park because they were orphaned, injured or dependent on humans in one way or another.  The park becomes the permanent home for these animals.  A home that is healthy and safe.

In addition to the animals, there are interactive exhibits, walking trails and a fish hatchery. There is a lovely picnic area as well a snack shack and nature store.  This makes the park a great place for birthday parties, reunions and other gatherings. The Wildlife Park is a family place for both children and adults to enjoy.

The park is located on Route 26 in Gray. It is open from mid-April to Veterans Day in November. The gates open daily at 9:30 am and close at 4:30 pm.  Admission costs are under $10.00 and children under 3 years old are free.

I do want to note that these are wild animals. Wild animals should not be approached or touched.

We have provided a link to the Maine Wildlife Park's website for further information about the park.
