SCARBOROUGH (NEWS CENTER) - Each year workers at the Worcester Wreath Company in Harrington load thousands of wreaths onto trucks to be shipped to Arlington National Cemetery.

There they are placed at the gravesites of soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrafice.

Along the way the trucks make a stop at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough. This year that stop is not possible because of a change in the schedule.

So Thursday, with a police escort and riders from the Patriot Guard leading the way, one of the large tractor trailers from Wreaths Across America, rolled into the parking lot of the  veterans home. Its arrival came 2 weeks ahead of it's typical yearly visit. Organizers wanted to make sure the residents there know they are not being forgotten.

"Part of Wreaths Across America is remember our veterans, and its really important that we never forget them. By stopping here it shows we will never forget them," said John O'leary of the motorcycle group Patriot Guard.

This year the Wreaths Across America caravan will roll out of the Harrington, Maine factory on December 5th and will arrive at Arlington a few days later.
