PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER)--An inmate at the Cumberland County Jail was tased after allegedly biting a corrections officer.

Deputies say Shaun McFarlin of New Albany, Indiana was being taken from a holding cell to  a court appearance when he  bit Deputy Mary Sorrells on her hand. When he wouldn't let go, another officer used a taser on him. McFarlin was then restrained and taken back to his cell.

Deputy Sorrells was not hurt.
